AERAS FOUNDATION X MILLION DEVICE DRIVE

Old devices can spark new futures.

In partnership with Jonathan’s Landing Foundation, Aeras Foundation is giving old tech a second life—and a greater purpose—through the Million Device Drive.

PURPOSE

Building opportunities one byte at a time.

We’re on a mission to collect one million used, old, or broken cellphones, laptops, tablets, and handheld devices and turn them into powerful tools for change.

In partnership with Jonathan’s Landing Foundation and its social enterprise, Techtonic, donated devices are repaired and reused to fuel hands-on tech training, fund industry certifications, and support inclusive housing for adults with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities. Devices that can’t be repaired are responsibly recycled—reducing e-waste while expanding opportunity.

Through a powerful partnership with the Aeras Foundation, Techtonic transforms donated technology into life-changing opportunities. Our participants gain purpose and professional expertise by restoring laptops, tablets, and phones to peak performance, bridging the gap between discarded tech and real-world career experience. Once refurbished, the Aeras Foundation distributes these devices to local Central Florida nonprofits, placing essential tools into the hands of those who need them most. By revitalizing hardware, we are both recycling devices and shifting life trajectories, empowering our community through the gift of digital access.

OUR Collective IMPACT

Behind every donated device is a story waiting to unfold—and Aeras Foundation is proud to help write it.

Over 200 neurodiverse individuals have already begun their journey toward meaningful careers in tech through hands-on training, and hundreds more are on the way. Like Isaac, a young adult with autism whose curiosity for how things work led him to his first Techtonic workshop.

What started as a single hands-on experience quickly turned into a pathway forward. Through Techtonic’s training, Isaac earned his WISE Certification™ in device repair, building not only his technical skill, but his confidence. Today, Isaac is a peer trainer and mentor, leading introductory workshops, supporting new learners, and showing what’s possible when talent is given the right opportunity.

A million devices will power a million opportunities for individuals like Isaac. When we come together to build a world where everyone belongs, the possibilities are endless.

FAQ

What devices can I donate?

We accept:

  • Cellphones and smartphones

  • Laptops and tablets

  • Handheld devices and accessories

Devices can be working, damaged, or no longer in use.

Unlocked devices provide the most impact, but any device can be used for training.

Devices are processed by WISE-certified technicians at Techtonic. All devices are used in hands-on training environments aligned with WISE Certification pathways.

Some devices are resold to help offset training and certification costs. All revenue generated is reinvested directly into the foundation to expand programs and participant access.

Devices that can’t be repaired are responsibly recycled to minimize environmental impact.

Adults with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities benefit through access to hands-on training, industry-recognized certification pathways, and meaningful employment opportunities in the technology and device repair ecosystem.

All donated devices go through a secure data handling process at Techtonic. Devices are wiped by WISE-certified technicians according to industry standards and handled in alignment with R2v3 Responsible Recycling requirements.

Devices are fully wiped before being reused in training, resold, or responsibly recycled—ensuring data security at every stage.

Yes. After your device donation is received and processed, you will receive a donation receipt from Jonathan’s Landing Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
